  1. dermott says:

I seem to have two Irishmen on my coverage.

  2. I guess when you grow up surrounded by similar voices you become immune to it

  3. Kocktopuss says:

This is hard on the eyes. Knock ons are killing us. Scrum holding up well all told.

Earls looks like he can potentially unlock the English defence. While out on the wing where he belongs. Take note Deccie.

Heaslip isn’t getting hauled off at any stage unfortunately. He was always undropable in Kidney’s eyes before this and now he’s captain so that’s now double!

    Cian Healy, stupid boy.

  4. MichaelVaughanMyLord says:

    Time for Hartley I think.

  5. Utnapishtm says:

Think healy with his overarm bind is causing cole lots of problems. Youngs and cole look quite loosely bound and that cant be helping.
    Parling having a great game

  6. Kocktopuss says:

    Parling having a great game.

  7. avsfan says:

England bring on Hartley to calm things down.

  8. Kocktopuss says:

    @ut

    Snap.

  9. Kocktopuss says:

Did anyone else think SOB got round the outside of Ashton way too easily there a moment ago?

  10. Utnapishtm says:

As with last night suspect first try wil win it

  11. karl1976 says:

    Pace has upped significantly now…

  12. Kocktopuss says:

We’re worryingly fragile today. Can some of the English players have the decency to get hurt com even it up please? Parling and Manu look like hospitable labs, they’ll do.

  13. karl1976 says:

    Oh James.

  14. firstdifference says:

    DOMINATION.

  15. avsfan says:

Hask didn’t slap himself hard enough before kick off.

  16. karl1976 says:

Actually, on replay, could have been accidental.

  17. Utnapishtm says:

Hask DOMINATING the little plastic chair.
England leaving a lot of space on the blindside. Ireland dont yet seem to see it

  18. Kocktopuss says:

Le Hask gets carded! Against my fears the ref has been very good and consistent but that’s a big call from him.

Hask needed to be smarter to pull off what he was trying to do.

ROG showing there’s life in the old dog yet.

    Nerves in pieces.

  19. firstdifference says:

I thought he had a little kick at the ball. But it could have been accidental.

  20. Utnapishtm says:

That was wonderful from youngs. Manu shouldve taken it. Big letoff for ireland. Lawes has added something to the pack

  21. Kocktopuss says:

    Oh Manu…

    Phew.

  22. meadesian says:

Ashton missing too many tackles on the chase today. Use brain.

  23. Kocktopuss says:

Yikes! I was only joking when I asked some English players to get hurt. That was a big knock on Lawes.

  24. firstdifference says:

NFL style tackle there. That’s why concussions are such a problem in that sport. I hope he is ok.

  25. Utnapishtm says:

Awful technique from lawes. Game slowly slipping away from ireland. They need someone to lift them

  26. avsfan says:

England surge ahead with Hask in the bin. Whodda thunked?

  27. @AVS DOMINATING from the sin bin?

  28. Kocktopuss says:

ROG biding his time for a last minute cross field kick for one of the wingers to get over and win it…

  29. karl1976 says:

This isn’t as bad as the france wales match, but I can imagine its far from entertaining to a neutral.

  30. Kocktopuss says:

That miss was all part of his plan. Now it means his conversion will win it and he can use it as a big ‘I told you so’ to Kidney…

  31. meadesian says:

Irish kicking has been too long, but Goode has been very safe and commanding today. Lions really are spoilt for choice at fullback.

  32. Utnapishtm says:

O Gara not having a happy time out there

  33. Kocktopuss says:

    Sigh.

  34. david_puddy says:

Andy Nicol’s analysis seems to consist of telling us what we saw Ben Youngs do…

  35. avsfan says:

Very smart play from England here at the death. Heading for a deserved win.

  36. avsfan says:

    Kiss of death?

  37. Kocktopuss says:

    Cross field kick time ROG…

  38. Kocktopuss says:

What is the point of bringing FitzPatrick on for one minute four seconds? A bit insulting, Kidney.

  39. Utnapishtm says:

England. Good win away from home in tough conditions. Ireland really need to ask themselves some hard questions. Panicked a bit. They let england out of gaol there.
Dont get the throbshaw MoM though. Youngs or Parling for me
    Wide open 6N.

  40. karl1976 says:

Easy on that GS chat there philip.

  41. sagmog says:

So, given that we have Dylan “Bitey” Hartley, do we now have Cian “Cheapshot” Healy?
    Horrible conditions, England were smarter.
Still not looking forward to playing Ireland at all.

  42. Kocktopuss says:

Pig of a game but well done England.

Ireland, sigh. Mistakes and discipline killed us. The team seemed to lack composure with key passes that could have amounted to something.

Still, with any luck this means Kidney won’t get a new contract.

  43. titimanionga says:

Well done england. Totally deserved and no complaints. Now I am going to go away and cry.

  44. RedWyrm says:

If that game wasn’t as horrid as the game yesterday, it’s by a scant margin. Error strewn, horrible conditions, ferocious defending. Reasonably enjoyable, though: well done England!

  45. Bioface says:

    Utna – wide open?

  46. firstdifference says:

England handled the conditions well. With that amount of possession and territory you would have thought Ireland could have done better but England’s defense and discipline held well. Thought Youngs and Goode played very well.

  47. Kocktopuss says:

Agree that Parling should have got man of the match. He popped up at key moments to apply crucial pressure.

Listening to George Hook loving the fact we were beating so he can engage in his favourite sport – Ireland-bashing. He reckons Ireland were bossed around even though our set piece was largely very good.

Very sad to see Conor O’ Shea sitting in the studio talking so much sense instead of being the coach of Ireland.

  48. Hugely impressed by the way that this team doesn’t panic when teams come back at them. NZ in the autumn, Ireland today. They just seem to up their game and move away from the opposition again.

Farrell must be favourite for the Lions 10 shirt now surely?

And Robshaw deserved his MoTM award for me. Class, class player.

  49. Considering France’s form England have now got the hardest game of the tournament out of the way, I think a GS is definitely likely

  50. sagmog says:

I think a GS is definitely likely

    Ooh. That’s just nasty FBC.

  51. Well deserving winners……I’m in hiding for the week, I’ll hand ye over to the missus

  52. Utnapishtm says:

Yes. After 2 rounds 4 teams won 1 lost 1. England obviously in pole position but only france out of contention. Do think les bleus will have something to say about where it ends up
Any of the teams can beat any other this year. classic tournament developing

  53. RedWyrm says:

Any of the teams can beat any other this year. classic tournament developing

    Hear hear.

  54. Kocktopuss says:

With France in disarray and Italy unlikely to be able to threaten this English team suddenly Wales find themselves in a likely position where they could derail an English slam and keep themselves in the run for the championship themselves. I anticipated bit of lip-smacking west of the Severn once that fact kicks in.

  55. RedWyrm says:

    Is this blog eating replies?

  56. @Sag let’s see the English underdog this one, it’s theirs to lose imo 😉

  57. RedWyrm says:

I anticipated bit of lip-smacking west of the Severn once that fact kicks in.

Followed by us making a pig’s ear of it, obviously, Crash.

It’s only France that can’t win the championship now, right?
